In October 2005 we purchased the top pen of 20 ewe hoggets at the Cleverlie Stud dispersal. These 20 ewes represented Clevelie’s best and latest genetic material and are the foundation of Glenholm Coopworths. During January and March 2006 we undertook embryo transfer programs matching elite New Zealand Coopworth semen with these ewes, to achieve to main short term goals:
Now with lambs on the ground from these programs we are excited to see the first generation of our efforts and look forward to the future for Glenholm Coopworths and the breed itself. |

Ram buyers have different needs for different breeding outcomes, at Glenholm we recognize this and aim to breed rams that will meet your specific needs. However we believe one attribute is a common requirement no matter what your breeding aim:
This is first and foremost in our mind. We then will take into consideration other variables that will differ in importance between clients,
In a self replacing Coopworth flock selling wether lambs as stores, fertility and worm egg counts may be most important. Where a flock that turns off their wether portion as prime lambs growth and eye muscle will rate highly in their ram selection. |
